Deep calls to deep...

"I love you forever. I like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."

What whales teach us about memory, tenderness, and the hidden places of God

A Mother That Never Forgets

Whales don’t forget their young.

They carry them.

Guide them.

Stay with them through the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

And even when the calf grows…

the bond doesn’t disappear.

There is recognition.

There is memory.

There is a knowing that cannot be erased.

Now sit with this:

If a creature in the ocean can remember its own…

how much more does God remember you?

You are not a forgotten soul drifting in open water.

You are known.

You are recognized.

You are remembered.

Even when you wander…

even when you grow…

even when you feel far from where you started—

He still knows you as His.

The Sensitivity of the Deep

Whales are not just powerful.

They are sensitive.

They feel vibrations in the water.

They communicate through frequency.

They respond to shifts most creatures would ignore.

They are not hardened by the deep—

they are tuned to it.

And maybe that’s why you feel everything so deeply.

Why noise overwhelms you.

Why tension sits heavy in your chest.

Why you can walk into a room and feel what no one says out loud.

That isn’t weakness.

That’s design.

A soul that is sensitive is a soul that can hear.

And God doesn’t shout over the chaos—

He speaks in frequencies only a listening heart can catch.

The Ocean: The Last Undiscovered Place

We’ve mapped the stars…

but we have not fully mapped the ocean.

There are places beneath the surface no human has seen.

Creatures we haven’t discovered.

Depths we cannot reach.

The greatest mystery on earth…

is below us.

Just like the soul.

Just like God.

There are places inside you that haven’t been explored yet.

Depths you haven’t touched.

Truths you haven’t uncovered.

And God is not afraid of those places.

He created them.

God Lives in the Deep

We often look for God in what is obvious.

The loud.

The visible.

The surface.

But whales don’t live there.

And neither does depth.

God meets you:

  • in the places you don’t talk about

  • in the emotions you don’t understand

  • in the silence that feels too big

  • in the questions with no quick answers

He is not intimidated by your depth.

He dwells in it.

You Were Never Meant to Be Shallow

Maybe that’s why your life has felt heavier.

Why you remember things others forget.

Why you feel things others brush off.

Why you carry people, moments, and emotions long after they’ve moved on.

You’re not “too much.”

You’re deep.

And deep souls don’t live on the surface.

They move like whales—

through vast, unseen places—

guided by something greater than sight.

The whale remembers its young.

The whale feels the unseen.

The whale lives in the undiscovered.

And so do you.

You are remembered.

You are sensitive for a reason.

You are carrying depths that are not accidents.

And somewhere in the vastness of it all…

God is already there.

Blocked. An answered prayer.

I was upset. Not the quiet, reflective kind of upset—the kind that hums under your breath and settles in your chest. The kind that makes you want to leave. Get in the car. Drive. Breathe somewhere els
